The first meeting of 2011 brought us two very different but interesting presentations.

Zen Software – Neil Perry

Based in Manchester and spun off from business ISP Zen Internet in 2000, Zen Software are a distributor of software specifically tailored for small businesses.

This presentation was based around a product called “MailStore”

MailStore is a mail archiving tool that works with many different mail servers including Exchange, MDaemon, Google Mail Kerio and even hosted Exchange.

The product is highly configurable but keeps a very simple and clean interface.

As well as archiving mail on the fly the product also has the capability of pulling in data that is client based (PSTs, Outlook Express, Thunderbird) that is traditionally difficult to keep a hold on.

Once archived the mail database can be searched directly from Outlook, via dedicated client software, a website or even an iPhone!

Data can easily be retained for set periods and during the demo the software was installed from scratch and in a short period of time was archiving email.

Telelease – Mike Shaw

Mike came to introduce Teleshaw to the group. Their main expertise is helping businesses finance equipment purchases so can help AMITPRO members remove objections during the sales process by spreading the cost over a three to five years.

They have offices in Birmingham and Milton Keynes and have a wide range of clients from many different sectors.

The recently economic crisis has made finding sources of finance increasing difficult. Telelease deal with a panel of finance companies meaning there are multiple options when trying to secure a deal.

The advantages to AMITPRO members include.

No need to chase payment – once a deal is agreed the money comes directly from the finance company.

Referral fees – Passed on for placing business with Telelease.

Simple – No reams of paperwork, whole process handled by Telelease.
